Volunteer Opportunities

When are the volunteer trainings offered?

Volunteer trainings take place in the Spring and Fall. Contact us for more information.

Unable to do the hotline? There may be other ways for you to be involved. Give us a call.

What is expected of a hotline volunteer?

Our 24-hour hotline is staffed mostly by volunteers. Volunteers are expected to take hotline calls over night from 5pm to 8am.

  • Shifts run over a period of several days to a week. We are able to work with diverse schedules and encourage anyone to participate. In order to take shifts on the hotline we require each volunteer to complete a 35-hour training.

  • After completing the training, you will be expected to take a series of days each month. This is partly to keep your skills fresh and to better serve clients.

  • Becoming a volunteer requires a commitment to helping victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child sexual abuse. We realize that some of these issues can be difficult to deal with and encourage people with a history of abuse who have resolved their issues to apply but to do so cautiously in order to protect themselves and other victims/survivors.
